Burkina Faso: Fallen soldiers in Gaskindé, Captain Ibrahim Traoré recognizes the bravery of the men who fell on the field
The Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, paid tribute, this Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the Sangoulé Lamizana camp, to the 27 soldiers who fell on the field of honor for the Fatherland, during the terrorist attack against the convoy of supply of the city of Djibo, on September 26 in Gaskindé in the Sahel region. Ten civilians were also killed in this terrorist attack.
On this occasion, the military hierarchy rallied around the Head of State to pay tribute to the memory and bravery of the 27 soldiers who defended the Nation at the cost of their lives.
At this tribute ceremony, all 27 fallen soldiers received, posthumously, the Military Medal for their commitment to the fight against terrorism, this scourge that threatens our Nation and our living together.
The 27 soldiers now rest in the military square of the municipal cemetery of Gounghin in Ouagadougou.
